The fabric has come to epitomize French “savoir faire” and “art de vivre” in matters of decoration. The fabric is most commonly in grey, red or blue. Famous scenes often represent bucolic patterns portraying imaginary of rural life called the “pastorale”. These included romantic scenes representing platonic love, animals, trees and flowers. Big events such as the discovery of the balloon where also represented on these prints.
